Pauza
Pauza (Preradovićeva 34, Zagreb) – this restaurant, which caters to local yuppies, is popular during lunch time. Many of Mediterranean-Asia fusion dishes are served here. The décor is very modern (a welcome change from the city’s omnipresent medieval atmosphere), with “chill-out” style dance music playing in the background. This restaurant prides itself on the affordability of many of its dishes.
The best definition of the cuisine of TAČ would be: Istrian and continental Croatian cuisine, with the influence of all gastronomic traditions in this area. The owners pay attention on the pastry-menu, so all sorts of cakes and home-made cookies can be found there. Among all these nice things the most interesting is the cake called “Tač”, made of roasted almonds, chocolate and “krokanat” (caramelized nuts). There are also the famous “štrukli of Zagorje” (cheese-pie with fresh cheese and sour cream), fruit-strudels depending on the season.
